I wear men's size 10 shoes, and usually do fine with size 10 boots, but I wanted these for cold weather, when I like to wear extra socks, so I sized up. These 11s fit very nicely with an extra pair of winter socks, snug all around but not tight, don't slip around as I walk. I suspect the 10s might have been a little too snug for me with only one pair of winter socks, as another pair of Kalkal boots I own is.Not hard to get on and off. The shafts (legs) are roomy enough even for large calves, I think. There are the buckled straps at the top to cinch it up there if you want.They're only moderately stiff all around, including the soles. The toes, heels and tops of the lower ankles are reinforced some but still pliable.Another comfort factor with these is the padding all around inside, even under the already soft removable insoles.They weigh 2 lbs 14 oz each, typical for hunting boots of this type. The 11s and up are 1" taller than the smaller sizes, 16" vs 15".They're not insulated for extreme cold, but are much better insulated than rain or mud boots.The tread is good for mud. It feels tough and durable.The insoles are softish foam covered with what appears to be durable woven fabric. The foam is 1/8" thick towards the front and thicker towards the back.There's no special arch support, which is how I prefer it, but since the insoles are removable you can add your own if you want.The Amazon photos are accurate.There was a chemical odor when these came out of the box, but it dissipates after some airing out.Kalkal is a brand from China, where these are made.
